What is a Puffco glass top?
Puffco eRigs use a removable glass top that sits over the atomizer. The glass is what you inhale through - it holds the water that filters and cools vapor before it reaches your mouth. Aftermarket glass tops are designed to fit the same base as the original but offer different percolator styles, water volumes, and aesthetics. Each Puffco model uses a different base size, so compatibility matters - always check the listing before ordering.
Which Puffco models do these tops fit?
We carry tops for three Puffco models. Each has a different base profile and glass connection, so tops are not interchangeable between models.
- Puffco Peak - the original flat-base eRig. Peak tops have a wide cylindrical base that seats directly onto the device.
- Puffco Peak Pro - similar in shape to the original Peak but with a slightly different base dimension. Some tops fit both; always confirm compatibility in the product listing.
- Puffco Pivot - a more compact, angled eRig designed to sit on a surface at a comfortable hit angle. Pivot tops are smaller and shaped specifically for the Pivot base.
- Puffco Core - Puffco’s entry-level eRig with a narrower base profile. Core tops are designed specifically for this model and will not fit the Peak or Pivot.
Why upgrade from the stock glass top?
The stock glass top that ships with every Puffco works fine, but it’s a basic single-chamber design with minimal filtration. Aftermarket tops with built-in percolators add diffusion and cooling the stock piece doesn’t have. Different perc styles produce noticeably different hits - some smoother and more diffused, some with active water recycling, some with a more open draw. If you dab regularly, a quality aftermarket top is one of the better upgrades you can make.
Percolator styles available
- Tree Perc - multiple arms diffuse vapor through several separate pathways at once, producing a smooth, well-filtered hit with good visual bubbling action
- Showerhead Perc - vapor passes through a disc with multiple small holes, creating fine bubbles and even diffusion across the water chamber
- Recycler - water continuously cycles between two chambers, keeping the vapor path clean and producing an exceptionally smooth hit
- Klein - an external recycler design where water loops outside the main chamber before returning, maximizing cooling in a compact footprint
- Pivot Style - an angled mouthpiece that lets you leave the device on a flat surface and hit it at a comfortable angle without picking it up
What to look for when buying a Puffco glass top
- Model compatibility: This is the most important factor. Peak, Pivot, and Core tops are not interchangeable. Check the listing carefully and match to the exact Puffco model you own.
- Percolator style: Recycler and Klein tops produce the smoothest hits. Showerhead and tree percs offer solid diffusion with a cleaner aesthetic. Pivot-style tops prioritize ergonomics over filtration.
- Water capacity: More water means more cooling, but too much in a small chamber can slow the draw. Recycler designs manage this well by cycling water rather than simply holding more of it.
- Glass quality: Borosilicate glass handles the heat cycling that comes with regular eRig use. Thicker glass is more durable and resists stress fractures over time.
How to install a replacement Puffco glass top
- Power off your device and let the atomizer cool fully before touching the glass.
- Lift the existing glass top straight up off the base to remove it.
- Add water to the new top before placing it - fill through the mouthpiece until water just covers the bottom of the percolator. Too much water will splash up on a hard inhale.
- Set the new top straight down onto the base, seating it firmly so it sits level and flush.
- Power on, select your temperature, and let it heat fully before your first hit.
How do you clean a Puffco glass top?
After each session, empty the water and rinse the inside with warm water. For a deeper clean, fill the chamber with isopropyl alcohol, cover the openings, shake gently for 30 to 60 seconds, then rinse thoroughly and let dry completely before adding fresh water. Clean every few sessions to prevent resin buildup in the percolator, which restricts airflow over time. For recycler and Klein tops, make sure the internal cycling pathways are fully flushed during cleaning.
